The Hemmingen-based company Eisenmann GmbH, manufacturer of exhaust systems for sporting cars and particulate filters donates 3.000 Euro to the Johannes-Kullen-Schule in Korntal 3.000 Euro for the refurbishment of their schoolyard. The money donated will be used for the purchase of a basketball basket and a stilt course. Making the donation Eisenmann GmbH is committed to long-term help. And such help is sincerely appreciated because the new schoolyard is for the pupils of the only school for children with behavioural disorders in the rural district of Ludwigsburg more than a place where they spend their breaks.
There are plans for the construction of a green classroom as well as for a playing field for soccer and basketball. Climbing gear and a skill course as well as a rest area will also be constructed in order to fulfil the different needs for exercise of the 175 children and young people. The schoolyard of the school which is maintained by the deaconry of the Christian community “Brüdergemeinde Korntal” is in one a sports and playground and an area where pupils can learn social skills. „As the number of pupils has risen substantially the schoolyard after about 40 years had finally be extended to correspond to the current requirements“, assessed the headmaster of the special school, Walter Link.
“Especially at Christmas time we receive many enquiries from companies which want to make personal gifts to our children“, says Klaus Dieter Steeb, director of the youth welfare “Hoffmannhaus Korntal”, on whose premises the Johannes-Kullen-Schule is situated. The youth welfare will also use the new schoolyard in the future. “Of course, the children are glad about that. As longevity is what primarily counts for our work with the young people we are very grateful about donations which support our equipment. Generations of children with behavioural disorders will profit from the equipment“, adds the social education worker.
